About the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center The Hospital of the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center exists to advance the understanding of cancer and our ability to diagnose and treat it, by integrating patient care, research, prevention and education. In 1973, the USC/Norris Cancer Center was designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as one of the first eight comprehensive cancer centers in the country. Today, there are only 35 such cancer centers in the nation.
